European Sea Ports Organization” is an interface between the authorities, associations and administrations of the sea ports of 22 European Union member states and Norway. Each year, it organizes an award to promote innovative projects by European port authorities.
The theme of the ESPO 2023 prize is “Nature in ports”. It will be awarded to the port authority that has developed innovative methods for implementing its role as manager of natural areas, and combining port development with environmental protection and restoration.
The four projects shortlisted for this year’s award are those of Grand Port Maritime de Guadeloupe (France), Cartagena (Spain), North Sea Port (Belgium & Netherlands), and the Port of Vigo (Spain).
The result will be announced on November 7. We’re keeping our fingers crossed to win this award and highlight our project and the GPMG’s environmental program!
